I Am In Luv With This Song!!!!!!!

Kele Okereke from one of my favorite bands Bloc Party came out with a solo album titled The Boxer earlier this year, and of all the tracks from that great album the song Everything You Wanted was a stand-out in my opinion. So check it out as the second single for yourself.

Vashtie For Nike's Air Joran ll

These Air Jordan II kicks are the first ever Jordans to have been designed by a female who just so happens to be one of my role models Vashtie Kola. They have lavender and deep-purple colorway with silver details in the laces to complement the metallic mid-sole. The colour pallets chosen for these sneakers seem to be taken from Vashtie's clothing line "Violette". They will be released October 2nd.

Luvin Being Human

Even though it has vampires, werewolves, and ghost it is way better than anything Stephanie Meyer could have ever written. They just started airing the series in Canada so sorry if I seem behind on my television shows, but check it out.

While Im in Niagra ...

Here are some summer tunes to keep you busy till I'm back.
1.

We'll start the playlist off with some Canadian Talent Art of Fresh with their track Out Of This World. It's a fun catchy upbeat song that just sets a nice mood for a chill summer.
2.

Next we have Scars from Basement Jaxx and even though Chipmunk is on the tack I'm actually not bothered by it that much because the production in my opinion makes up for it.
3.

I had to put BLK JKS on my list because they are just a breath of fresh air and fill my void of afro rock at this moment which is never a bad thing and also they're from South Africa.
4.

Chiddy Bang are definately one of my favourite acts of 09-10 and Sooner Or Later happens to be one of my most played tracks so take a listen.
5.

Okay I absolutely love the Tacklebox mixtape and it was really hard to pick one traack so I just went for the one most fitted for this list but checkout so neat, going camping, birthdays, great outdoors, strawberry girls, well lets just say get the friggin mixtape its great for the summer.
6.

When I heard Darwin Deez's original version of the track was okay but after the Xaphoon Jones (ofChiddy Bang)remix I absolutely love it so go and support him and download his mixtape. There are a bunch of sick tracks that are also on there like the Bob Marley mix.
7.

Example's track Won't Go Quitetly is another fun song to listen to for the summer when heading out.
8.

This would have to be one of my favourite tracks from J Davey. Get Together to me is like a beautifully crafted mellow song that just seems to go sooooooooo well with those chilled summer nights on the road. Also check out their mixtape Boudoir Synema: The Great Mistapes.
9.

Now Im not the biggest fan of most of Janelle's music but every now and then I find a gem in her work and for me Neon Valley Street would have to be mine from her most recent album, so definately check it out.
10.

Johnny Polygon's track Kids Broken Hearted is another good track from an underated artist. With his mixtape Rebel Without Applause hopefully he continues to make catchy tunes.
11.

Here is another canadian artist K-OS who has been reppin for our hip-hop scene for many years and continues to do us proud with this sick track.
12.

Kele from Bloc Party had me pretty skeptic when he first came out solo but this track really grew on me and now Im obsessed plus he's Nigerian so I'll definately support.

I LUV QUADRON!!!!!!!!!

They are a Danish experimental duo that has a similar sound to the likes of Little Dragon and Lykke Li. Quadron consist of vocalist CoCo and producer Robin Hannibal. Quadrons debut album came out ealier this year or late last year and it is seriously one of my go to albums of the year with tracks like slippin, day, pressure, buster keaton, and average fruit. CoCo's voice is abolutely beautiful along with the production of Hannible, so please check them out.

Kanye's new video for Power

There isn't really much to say about it. The visuals were beautiful, short and sweet, and because it's Kanye he had to set himself apart from the Gaga's out there with 30 minute videos. Remember it's more of a painting in movement so enjoy.

Did She Say She TheCocknbull Kid?

I recently came across this UK artist by the name of Cocknbull Kid (Anita Blay). She has some great tunes that consist of such catchy melodys, cheeky lyrics, and a pleasantly infectious voice to add to the formula she will definately be on my summer playlist with such tracks as "I'm Not Sorry", "On My Own", and "Cocknbullkid". So definately look out for her on myspace and youtube channel for more on her, and for her album be sure to look out for it around September.

H&M Women’s July 2010 Preview

H&M have come up with some new images from there July looks and I am definately tempted to buy the striped maxi dress, two tone loosely fitted sweater, and blue tribal pattern tights. Also I've got my eye on the studded shorts, cream coloured shirt, and striped bra tank. So look out for it when it hits the stores.

B-lated/ Summer Heights High

Well again I have taken a bit of a break but I was just celebating my 19th birthday and had a great time. So with that being said there is this show that recently debuted in Canada that goes by the name Summer Heights High and I absolutely love the 3 main character Jonah, Mr. G, and Ja' maie (sp). It's like a fake reality show based on them played
by the same person. Jonah is the trouble attention wanting bad boy, Mr. G is the enthusiastic bit delusional drama teacher, while Ja' maie I the private school spoiled brat. Definately check it out on YouTube.

Luvin CHIDDY BANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This group has been around for a bit less than a year but are already making waves. Attending their first year of college, (same age as me, yay!!). Chiddy Bang combines witty lyricism from front man Chidera “Proto” Anamege, creative electronica afro-beat and jazz influenced production from keyboardist Noah Beresin. At this point in their career they are more recognized in the UK but hopefully the North American market will welcome embrace them like I have been. But let me just say that this is another reason why I will eventually move to the UK (great taste in music). Their first single "Opposite of Adults" has made it on the uk charts at #12 and with their second single "Truth" they can only go higer and better. Go get their mixtapes The Swelly Express and Air Swelly.

Are They Serious?

I was watching the skorpion show on YouTube and found out thatDiddy ft Dirty Money and Queen Latifah (who is hosting the award show) announced the nmoination for the BET awards. And this year  frekkin Justin Bieber has been nominated for a BET award . Don't tell me the main reason was for his sad little fans ans his support from Usher because that is not cutting it for me AT ALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!This must be a joke and this is just another thing for me to add to the many list of things that are wrong with BET nowadays. You might as well add Lady Gaga to the list of noms. Anyways if any one does bother to watch hopefully they find something good about it.

My Natural Journey

( I rocked this style for a majority of my first year in college)

I just want to make a little post about my hair. I have been on a natural hair journey since last September of 09. So with that being said I have seen some growth (Showder length). The whole reason why I really started this natural thing was because I was in college with a limited budget that went mostly to text books and art supplies. Now that I've learned how to properly take care of my hair and will probably do some updates on lenth, product usage, regime and whatever else.

IM A LOVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those who have been in the dark for about two years there is a great artist that I must mention because he make great music. Theophilus London is officially one of my favourite artist and this is due to his ability to combine hip-hop with house, indie, alt.,soul and whatever else I seen to be missing. His second mixtape (if I'm not mistaken) is called "This Charming Mixtape" is what first caught my attention with songs such as cold pillow, aquamilitia, your the one, and grey sage I was instantly hooked on his music. After that I ended up getting his first mixtape JAM! which has some inspiration from that lake but great Michael Jackson featuring songs such as invisible man, die 4 you, blindfolded, sand castles ft. Solange, superbad, rest of them, and many more hot tracks. Now that "I Want You", his third mixtape has recently come out I would definatley reccomend that you make an attempt to listen to it.

I Have My Reasons

I have absolutely no service in my dorm and it is killing my social life. So the post as you can see will be lacking until I head back home. It's been a good semester so far and by celebrating the end of mid-terms I would like to post the Lady Gaga ft. Beyonce video for Telephone. It's a bit weird but I don't expect anyrhing less my Gaga.

GO CANADA GO!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been without the internet for a week relying on nothing but stand up comedy,The Boondocks, Chappelle Show, and George Lopez specials to pass the time. So I'm just making a quick post from home (visiting the fam). Anyways I just wanted to share my Canadian pride because of our win from the Canada vs. USA finals game or the gold. Go Canada Go, THIS IS OUR GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So sit back and watch the winning goal by my friends imaginary husband Crosby and the craziness that followed in downtown Toronto.

African Pride: Africa Is The Futre T-Shirts

I just saw this shirt and now I have to have one. Being that I am African specifically Nigerian (Edo and Fulani), I feel that I am blessed to have such a rich and fascinated culture. My mother comes from a very privileged background while my father came from more humble beginnings. And because I have been exposed to both sides I understand the philosophy of the type of environment my parents grew up around and I think that is why I'm so proud of anything related to Africa (specifically Nigeria). So for the Africans out there be proud and represent by geting a t-shrit at http://www.africaisthefuture.com/.
